Student Scholarship Winners - 2010
The Queen Creek Schools Education Foundation awarded four scholarships this year totaling $9,000 at Senior Day - May 17th. This year's recipients are:
Sherod Hardt – Nathan Martens Scholarship - $3000
Samantha Calhoun – QCSEF Scholarship - $3000
Sarah Lawlor – QCSEF Scholarship - $1500
Dara Umana – QCSEF Scholarship - $1500
Student Scholarship Winners - 2009
The Queen Creek Schools Education Foundation has awarded four scholarships this year totaling $9,000 at Senior Day.
A $1,500 scholarship was awarded to Kylie Johnson. She graduated with a 4.46 GPA was ranked 4th in the class. She plans on attending Barrett, the honors College at Arizona State University.
A $1,500 scholarship was awarded to Lexis Hanson who finished with a 4.15 GPA ranked 13 out of 360 and plans on furthering her education by attending Arizona State University.
The $3,000 QCSEF scholarship was awarded to Megan Traichal. Megan finished first in her class with a GPA of 4.65 and plans on attending University of Arizona in the Honors College as a Linguuistics major.
The 4th annual Nathan Martens scholarship goes to Jacob Goddard. This scholarship was established to honor Nathan Martens, who was a graduate of Queen Creek high school, played sports while in school and was a US Navy Corpsman who gave his life for his country in Iraq in 2005. Jacob was on the wrestling team for four years and was team captain, four years on the football team and served as captain. He also served on student council for four years and was the Student Body President and also volunteered his time as a youth wrestling coach for 5 years. Jacob plans on furthering his education and wrestling career by attending Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Student Scholarship Winners - 2008
On Monday, May 19th the Queen Creek Schools Education Foundation awarded three scholarships during the Scholarship Award Ceremony at the Queen Creek Performing Arts Center.
The third annual Nathan Martens Scholarship was awarded to Jenna Stradling for $3,000.
Jenna graduated 19th in her class with a 3.98 GPA and will be attending Arizona State University where her goal is to receive her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in psychology. Jenna was very active during her high school career where she served as Chapter President and State Area Vice President for DECA; she participated in the Spirit Line and during her Senior Year she was Varsity Captain and Cheer Club President; she was in the orchestra for four years and served as President her Senior Year.
The Queen Creek Schools Education Foundation Scholarship was awarded to Courtney Nichols for $3,000.
Courtney graduated 16th in her class and will be attending Arizona State University where she plans furthering her education studying to become a physical therapist. Courtney was on the cheerleading squad for four years; three years on National Honors Society; a London’s Run volunteer for three years and FBLA secretary.
The Chandler-Gilbert Community College Scholarship was awarded to Katie Graham in the amount of $1,000.
Katie graduated 61st in her class and will be attending Chandler-Gilbert Community College where she will major in Psychology and plans on transferring to ASU.
We would like to congratulate the entire 2008 graduating class of Queen Creek High School and wish them success in the future.
Student Scholarship Winners - 2006
The Queen Creek Schools Education Foundation, QCSEF, is a newly formed, non-profit organization dedicated to providing funds to the students, teachers and schools in the Queen Creek School District. In May of 2006 we were honored to present graduating Queen Creek High School senior Austin Call with the first QCSEF college scholarship award
The QCSEF is made up of local community volunteers. Our charter is to partner with the community to promote excellence in education and encourage responsible citizenship by financially supporting growth and learning opportunities for students within the Queen Creek School District. Donations can be made to the foundation at Union Bank located at 20713 E. Ocotillo Road, Queen Creek, or get involved and contact Tom Lindsey at (480)987-7482.

Nathan Martens Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established to honor Nathan Martens, who was a graduate of Queen Creek high school, played sports while in school and was a US Navy Corpsman who gave his life for his country in Iraq in 2005.
The scholarship will be awarded based on athletics, community involvement, service, leadership, character, and academic achievement.
The Deadline to Apply for the 2010 Scholarship is April 16, 2010 at 3pm
The Scholarship is awarded at the Senior Awards Banquet each Spring
The amount of the scholarship will be a total of $3,000. $1,500 will be awarded for the Fall Semester/Quarter and the additional $1,500 will be given for the next Semester/Quarter with proof of a 3.0 GPA; full time status; and student class schedule
Savannah Kleinlein was selected for the QCEF Scholarship and is going to Yale
and Jason Baldwin was selected for the Nathan Martens Scholarship and will be attending ASU
General Scholarship
The scholarship will be awarded based on financial need, community involvement, service, leadership, character, and academic achievement.
The deadline to apply for the 2010 scholarship is April 16, 2010 at 3pm.
Completed applications can be dropped off at the Guidance Office at the High School. The Scholarship will be awarded at the Senior Awards Banquet in the Spring
The amount of the scholarship will be one for $3,000 and two for $1500.
50% of the scholarship will be awarded for the Fall Semester/Quarter and the additional 50% will be given for the next Semester/Quarter with proof of a 3.0 GPA; a full time; and student class schedule submitted.
